Cherry Lake Publishing acquires Sleeping Bear Press!

Exciting news for Sleeping Bear! As of close of business on August 27, 2012 the ownership of Sleeping Bear Press transfers to school and library publisher, Cherry Lake Publishing from Gale, a Cengage Learning company. “We are fortunate that the market has embraced us in the way that they have, our growth has enabled us to take this important step forward with Sleeping Bear Press,” said Ben Mondloch, President of Cherry Lake Publishing. According to Heather Hughes, Publisher of Sleeping Bear, “We are very excited about this opportunity. Cherry Lake Publishing will provide us with direct access to the school and library markets and we will provide them with more visibility into the trade and gift markets. There will be no impact on our brand and publishing program and we are working diligently to make a smooth transition. We are thrilled to be once again working with Cherry Lake’s President Ben Mondloch and the Cherry Lake team.” This fall, Sleeping Bear Press will celebrate 15 years of publishing award-winning books for children.
