Originally from Kalamazoo, Tom lives in Lansing with his wife, Sandi, and their two children, Clayton and Eliza. A stay-at-home dad and a part-time lawyer, Tom always loved to write creatively, and has dabbled in writing poetry and songs since childhood. His interest in writing quickly shifted to children’s stories after the birth of Clayton. Tom was inspired to write My Piggy Bank because of the joy a birth gift piggy bank brought to Clayton.
