Rhonda Gowler Greene

Rhonda Gowler Greene is the author of over twenty children’s books. Many of her books have earned honors and starred reviews. Her first book, Barnyard Song (Atheneum), was a SLJ Best Book of the Year. Publishers Weekly gave a starred review to her second book, When a Line Bends…A Shape Begins (Houghton Mifflin). This is the Teacher (Dutton) was an IRA-CBC Children’s Choice Book. A former elementary teacher with a master’s degree in educational media, Rhonda loves speaking at schools, libraries, and conferences. In her school presentations, she helps students become better writers by giving tips on how published authors read, think, and write. “I love books and reading,” says Rhonda. “If I weren’t writing books, I’d probably be a librarian.” Rhonda lives in a house overflowing with books in West Bloomfield, Michigan, with her husband, Gary. They have four grown children.
